A Year of Expansion and Consolidation
Editorial production in Colombia closed 2025 with figures that confirm the sector’s strength and dynamism. According to the latest data from the Cámara Colombiana del Libro, the country experienced significant growth in both the number of titles published and the volume of printed copies, driven by strategic segments and a steadily rising demand.
In 2025, Colombia published 19,024 titles, representing a 16.2% increase compared to the previous year. This growth reflects not only greater editorial activity but also a diversification of content and an expanded offering for different audiences.
Print production also showed strong performance: 38.5 million copies were printed, a 12.3% increase. Although digital formats continue to advance, printed books remain the core of the Colombian market and the main channel for consumption.
The educational (+34.8%) and technical‑scientific (+31.6%) segments were the main drivers of growth, highlighting sustained demand for specialized content and learning materials. This trend aligns with the strengthening of the country’s academic and professional ecosystem.
In parallel, digital formats and audiobooks continue to grow, although they still represent a smaller share of total production. In 2025, Colombia registered 3,334 digital titles and 88 audiobooks, indicating that the market is actively exploring new distribution and consumption models.
Colombia’s editorial production is not only expanding — it is becoming more professional, more diverse, and more aligned with the real needs of Colombian readers. A landscape that encourages continued investment in innovation, quality, and the expansion of distribution channels.
